did I just use that as the title? ha ha ha ha... well anyways...

so, I recently discovered that my art blog (along with this one) wasn't showing up correctly on Internet Explorer... thanx for tellin' me kids (!)...

I hadn't noticed because I use Firefox, & it always showed up the way it was supposed to... I know not everyone has caught on to the whole Firefox thing yet, but yeah...

so then, after noticing the problem a few more times, I checked the blogger help section with any keywords I could think of at the time - but to no avail... so I sent them a message asking why my sidebar was under the blog & what I could do to correct the problem...
I got a message back with a link to the correct help article, & promptly went about fixing my art blog... & it worked...

but low & behold this morning... the one you are currently reading (or not reading, depending on the annoyance factor of the way it looks) was not only incorrect in Internet Explorer, but also in Firefox, as well (!)...
of course I then went into the mode of trying to fix the damn thing, same as the art blog, but nothin' doin'... I adjusted the images that were too big for their fields (per the help articles instructions), but as of this writing, it still looks like the blog is standing on the sidebar's head - friggin' great...

maybe I pissed-off Blogger with my insolent questioning... on the other hand, it could just be a coincidental hiccup caused by all this updated & blogger beta stuff that's goin' on...

what the crap is up with all these simple things taking so much effort or ending up lacking...

*if this part (or parts) doesn't make sense to you, it's probably not supposed to:

books I haven't seen yet... eating... a green pig... a talk that's beneficial to one party only... never trust virgotic females that play the victim &/or devil's advocate (it's damn-near the only way they know)... one long thumbnail... I don't wanna wear a tux!... an empty but unused 'puter lab... pain is better than numb - period... an underhanded attempt at imposing one's opinion (& a suspect filter)... oh, where is my hairbrush... leave the socks alone!... & finally - yes, double-standards happen & no, it is never okay...

bad situations not withstanding - between crappy motivations & other selfishness in general, it's a wonder anything happens at all...

in case the recent news about the music industry going after free guitar tablature web-sites wasn't disturbing enough, I found out today that DJ/mash-up artist World Famous Audio Hacker was arrested on September 3rd, after dj-ing that previous night into the morning...

what the hell? I swear, those riaa/music-suit-guys are really trying to take everyone down with 'em... I seriously see them as dying, decrepit creatures sensing that the end is near - more & more musicians are becoming aware that they do have options (poke around at Downhill Battle) - and newer, forward-thinking companies (Magnatune, anyone?) are seeing/innovating new avenues as well...

I would encourage everyone to go check out WFAH's web-site & spread this around as much as you can...

well, I've started working on an essay, using this music-industry article at the new york times website as source material (more on that at another time), but when I went back to see the article again, it had been moved to some archive where you had to buy it to access it (good thing I had it saved & printed already)...

what kind of crappy news-site is that? no wonder I never go there... I understand that they have an old-school mentality as far as the way they deal in content (a common enough problem, no question), but has anyone else noticed that most news sites out there don't have this problem/issue? granted, not every news site leaves articles up forever, but I don't recall ever being blocked in lieu of payment...

if this seems like old news to you, then it's probably because I have pretty much avoided the mainstream newspaper web-sites, biasely (& apparently correctly, in this instance) assuming they would struggle & try to make the technology conform to what they do, as opposed to being open to a new medium, with the inherent new quirks...

this weekend I had a fun time, hanging out with my friend David (who was up from SD County for a visit), & co. ...
simple stuff - pancakes, a quesadilla, kicking each other's asses at video games... just chill time, mostly...

so, I went to universal with my mom yesterday - we haven't got to hang out in quite awhile, so it was cool... we had a pretty good time... I didn't kill anybody (although I had ample opportunity, let me tell ya)...
towards the end of the day, we ended up watching two music-acts at citywalk: 1st, this really interesting instrumental band with two combination guitar/violin-type instruments - they were called 2 guitar viols (well, I suppose an instrumental group doesn't have to come up with a clever name)...
2nd was this girl with a guitar - Chelsea Williams... she was real good & her covers were often better than the originals...

a friend recently posted a question to all of her friends... "what's sexy to you? what makes a person sexy?"

I thought this was a pretty interesting question, & I have thought of this before, so I just couldn't pass up this one - so here's my response:

good question...

sexy is so funny, because it's not the same as beautiful or pretty or what-have-you... like, that's what I always noticed about Madonna - she's sexy, but I wouldn't call her beautiful (pretty, I suppose)... I mean, I wouldn't even say I'm actually attracted to her (okay, every once in awhile when I was younger maybe)...
& I suppose the reverse can be true, as well... some beautiful people just are not that sexy...

sexy isn't even visual at it's base, I don't believe... sometimes your senses are being drawn to someone who's just teeming with sexuality, while your eyes are telling you to shut the hell up & turn-tail... you don't know why, but damn if you aren't drawn like a moth to that sexy-ass flame...

sexy is just one of the aspects of attraction... it's nice (real nice) when it's combined with 1 or more other aspects, & to me, alotta times it's essentially artful... some of the art being deliberate from an individual at times, & at other times, maybe none is deliberate (for their part, anyways)...

I think there are different levels too - like, some things or people are just undeniably sexy - & some seem to be relating more to personal preference (like in the same vein as a fetish or something else that's more personally psychological [as opposed to more generally psychological])...
